  • LOTS OF NEW GOING ONS!!!

  • New Article from France
    Here's what they said:
"6 CD's in only 7 years, as far as I'm concerned - masterpieces"
Eric Durmeige - Blues and Company

  • New CD In The Works
I'm pretty excited about this new project. I've cut 15 tracks for the new CD and will be having Jay Ungar and Molly Mason (Ashoken Farewell, David Bromberg) playing fiddle and upright bass on it. These are two of the top roots/old time players in the country, and I'm proud to have them aboard. While the majority of the songs will be blues, there will be a healthy sprinkling of old time and roots as well. For you National Steel guitar fans.. this CD will be jammed packed with that sound. I'll be sure to keep you all posted when this exciting new CD comes out.

  • Blues in the Schools News:
You know how I've been doing a Blues In The Schools Program throughout the L. I. area. I'd just thought I'd like to share
what some of the middle school kids have written to me lately. I love turning a new generation on to the Blues.
This letter (one of hundreds) comes from a 14 year old boy who got to play sax with me during a recent presentation:
    'Dear Mr. Walker,
I can't even begin to say how much this experience has meant to me. I loved playing the sax with you and learning about the blues. You have influenced me so much that I am even looking at my future differently now. I had so much fun playing the blues that I can't wait to play and learn about this music. You really made an impact on my life'.. Brian

    Summer Tours
This summer I'll be performing at a variety of festivals, concert halls, live radio shows and guitar workshops throughout the Northeast. In August I'll be heading up to Canada as well to perform at the prestigious Summerfolk Festival. It's a mighty good thing I bought a hybrid!!

    8th Tour of England
What can I say? They love me over there and it'll sure be great to see my old friends. In September I'll be leaving for my 8th tour of the U.K. The schedule is looking pretty busy so far as I'll be traveling from Liverpool to London and over to the southeast... crisscrossing those fields, farms, cities and 1500 year old communities once again.

  • TEACHING AT THE FUR PEACE RANCH |
I'll be teaching fingerpicking blues guitar at Jorma Kaukonen's Fur Peace Ranch for my 5th year. The 09' schedule will be going up in May so keep your eyes out. This is a wonderful chance to study guitar in an exciting musical setting. Seeing as how my course called 'Turbo Tuna' was such a hit the Fur Peace folks wanted me to offer it again. This course will show all those Hot Tuna players how to 'Turbo' up those Hot Tuna songs they already know with hot licks, chords, intros, endings and lots more. Even if you don't know any of the songs from Hot Tuna's repertoire you'll still come away with an arsenal of tricks to put into your playing, as well as a bunch of new songs!!!
