Jersey Red was a poolroom bum
Didn’t have much but he sure had some
Juice for that one way street
16 tables in a damp pool hall
White turning yellow on that old cue ball
From the juice, on that one way street
Fats came in, floating on a breeze
Packed a 38 special had a dead man’s squeeze
Made a deuce on the Cincinnati kid
Would’ve won more but he hit a skid
But that fat man, he ain’t never been beat
He was a 3 cushion champ with a good run of luck
But now the booze and the pills are quickly catching up.
But he stays on that one way street
The boardwalk’s hot, the action’s steady
50 ball run and you better be ready
For the juice on that one way street
You rent a 20 dollar room with a rusty hot plate
Got a game down the road and you’re running late
You got the juice, for that one way street.
A big pay day against a no talent hack
That’s a sure bet you’re never coming back
You got a Viper cue stick you think you’re tough
But you better be prepared may not be enough
