Here are the songs that I currently perform. You'll find my own originals as well as songs that I cover.
Originals - either my own or co-written.
Texas Man - This one came to me from after watching a movie about a modern day bank robber from Texas.
Southern Cross The Dog - A mythical story about the man who inspired W.C. Handy.
Bernie's Blues - Co-written with John Sposato. One of my most haunting songs.
Shakin' Her Bacon - Co-written with Tom Griffith. A ragtime piece about a lady who can really shake it!
Swing Bean - One of my most requested instrumentals! Lead, bass, rhythm, horns, drums... all coming out of six strings!
Seven Day Wonder - Co-written with Tom Griffith. Having a girl for every day of the week isn't what it's cracked up to be.
Ride This Train - I get to turn my National Steel Tri-cone into a freight train on this one!
On Line Religion - My take on modern day worship. LOL.
Big Meat Shaking - What can I say: another song about large, fun, women.
Who's Gonna Be Your Sweet Man - Inspired by biker gal with LOTS of boyfriends.
I Can't Remember - An elderly lady once handed me a poem that she found in her roll-top desk, which, while in her handwriting, she couldn't remember if she actually wrote it. It was hilarious, so I put music to it. Then a friend of mine - Tim Atwell - added a verse.
Central Islip Jail Blues - Do writers write best about what they've experienced? You be the judge. True story.
Devil Beating On His Drums Tonight- a saying in the South when the weather is REALLY bad.
Take a Little Walk With Me - Fast moving slide tune, asking a lady to spend some time with me.
Baseball Blues - Is this song about baseball, or isn't it? Hah!
Better Luck Next Time - Co-written with Tom Griffith. The title says it all.
Weak Willed and Easily Led - Co-written with Martha Trachtenberg. Pretty much the story of my life.
It's Tough - Next to a vintage Ford pickup, a '57 Chevy is one tough automobile.
Toby's Boogie Woogie - A quick paced Boogie Woogie instrumental.
Something On The Side - Co-written with Tom Griffith. Sometimes cheating can be beneficial.
100 Real Good Reasons To Sing The Blues - Co-written with Martha Trachtenberg. You think you've got it hard? Think again.
Full Figured Women Are Back In Style Again - With a nod to Taj Mahal. I opened for him many years ago and he sang something similar. I thought I could do my own variation of the song, and wound up changing things around completely.
Generosity Rag - instrumental done in the Classic Ragtime style.
Sundance Rag - another original instrumental with lots of twists to it.
Blind Man's Bluff - a confluence of Blind Blake's hot licks.
